SHOE SHOP

“Rougeshoe” is a shoeshop in Córdoba Street, in the centre of Rosario.

The place is more beautiful than the best shoe shop in Paris. The decoration is fantastic and it’s full of mirrors. When you buy something there you are given a perfume. You will feel very comfortable buying there.

But the problem is the quality of the products. In the shop window, the shoes seem to be beautiful and good quality, but actually they are uncomfortable and some days after you have bought them, the heels and leather breaks. This is incredible because these shoes are really expensive.

If I were you:

I wouldn’t go there
I’d look for something cheaper
I wouldn’t pay so much attention to shop windows

And remember: expensive things are not always good quality!!!

SPORTSWEAR SHOP

“Sport 78” is located in the centre of the city. There you can find several trademarks at a very good price, there’s always a 50% discount in all the products. The shop assistants are very polite and they don’t bother you trying to persuade you to buy something.

There are many products: training shoes, sweatshirts, shorts, jeans, jackets, etc.

The place is very big and comfortable and you can choose by yourself and try on anything you want. There are all kinds of payments. They accept credit cards, cheques and cash.

You’ll feel free and comfortable there, but you must spend quite a lot of time in order to find what you are looking for.

If I were in a rush, I would….

Go to Sport 78 in the shopping centre
Go some other time
Go to a smaller sportswear shop

Mc Donald’s

It’s a great place! Full of games and with a lot of colourful toys that come in the happy box. It has many types of hamburgers and ice-creams. It also has chips and the drink that we all prefer “Coke”. The service is great. Everybody loves Mc Donald’s, especially kids.

But actually, Mc Donald’s is only junk food. The food is delicious, but we are having a bad diet there. They give toys to persuade the children to buy their food. We have to stop going there, cause we are going to end like American fat people. Besides it’s a quite expensive place.

If I were you:

I’d look for something cheaper
I’d go to a different kind of restaurant
I’d go to a place with healthy food

What would you say about Rosario?

Rosario is one of the most beatiful cities in Argentina.It has a population of over 3.000.000 people and is located in the centre of Argentina, in the province of Santa Fe.It was established in 1852.
It´s a plain and there´s a river.From the riverside you can see Rosario-Victoria bridge. The most important place to visit is the Flag Memorial but there are other places like the Independence Park or just go to Florida beach.
In this popular city there are many different sports to do. You can play rugby, football, hockey, volleyball, golf and many others.There are a lot of discos for young people and if you want to go shopping, there are two really important shopping centres in Rosario.

This morning I gave a puzzle to my upper-intermediate students. I want to check their computer-literacy. Kentucky Crosswords is great for ready-made puzzles. I asked ss to look up the words they don't know as homework assignment. I wonder how many words they can define.

Redefining aims for blogging

When I first started blogging, I thought students would love the idea of publishing their production.
I openly invited them to post, but they didn't. I insisted...,but they didn't. They've sent by mail their writing tasks and a few have commented when requested.
So, this year I'll humbly post about applications that can be easily integrated to the traditional EFL classroom.
Here the first examples:
I usually ask my students to design banners with their names for the first lessons. This year I told them to go to www.whatalovelyname.com. There they can find their name or type it to design a logo. Some students designed beautiful logos, printed them and brought them to school. Success!
I highly recommend Larry Ferlazzo's blog for simple ideas.

Camping experiences

The campsite

This year we went to Sarmiento´s park in Carcaraña. It's 50 km. from Rosario. We slept in a shelter with bunkbeds.
The weather was very cold but sunny.
We had breakfast and dinner in a diningroom but we had lunch out of the shelter.
We had cookies and cocoa for breakfast.We had hamburgers, sausages, chicken or barbacue for lunch and dinner.
In the evenin we sat near the fireplace and we read "the gossiper". It was a box with pieces of papers. Classmates wrote "gossip" about everybody.
I liked free time but I didn't like the climate.

"John was a boy who was always in trouble. Sometimes it wasn't his fault but his addiction to drugs made him do many things he would later regret.

One day he was going back home from school when he met his girlfriend's ex, Mark. Mark started to shout at him and insult his family. John took a gun from his pocket just to scare him, but accidentaly shot and killed Mark.

Unfortunately for him, there was a policeman nearby who saw everything and arrested him.

John's case went to trial and was sentenced with capital punishment in the electric chair.

A poor boy is judged by Society for what he has done. Actually, he has killed a man, and even though he is sorry and says he did not mean to do that, part of Society, which is against him, is not prepared to let him go. In fact, they want him to be punished. Also, other people think he deserves forgiveness as we all do.

Finally, he realises that ,as a matter of fact, no one really cares about the problems of others, and criticizes this carlessness concerning both the good and tha bad ones.

At the very end, he gives up just because it seems impossible to change Society´s mind

Once there was a boy who killed a man. At that moment he wasn`t conscious of what he did. Then he felt sad and miserable because all his life he was a clever and responsible guy and then all he knew he had become a criminal and he felt he had dissapointed his mother who had taken care of him since he was born. And when she noticed that her only child would be judged to be capital punished she wouldn´t afford it. He couldn´t do anything to avoid his mother's sadness. However he iwas mentally prepared to pay for his mistake. He didn´t want to die, and sometimes he wished he'd never been born at all.

Later on he became so frightened to his near end that he tried to defend himself explaining to society his terrible situation, but some of them were so cruel that they didn`t forgive him. He was desperate and became very angry, because society was divided and sometimes people love him and then they stone him and spit in his eyes.

Finally he accepted his sentence, because from then on nothig really mattered to him.

The Story of a poor boy.
There was a miserable boy who lived in a vey poor area.
He was considered a criminal by the majority of the society because he had
recently killed a man. The other part of the society supported him because
they thought he was very young to be killed.
He was sentenced to die. He felt absolutely guilty of what
he had done. He was really sad because he didn´t have any way to escape. His
future was death. He also felt he was the worst son in the world because
he had betrayed his mother.
Religious fans were against him and they were majority so the boy had to be
killed. And here ended the life of this poor boy, who felt really furious
and angry but couldn´t be saved.

Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is the capital of Netherlands, country we all know as Holland. It has a population of about four million people and it’s important for the business and economy of one of the richest countries in the world.

Amsterdam has been one of the most problematic cities of the world because of political protest, which has been made since 1970 till now. Currently, the anarchy of the previous decades has given rise to a hard pragmatism, which is tempered by the traditional Dutch humanism. Nowadays, Holland has a Socialist system, which is working really fine, at least in the economical and humanistic fields.

In Amsterdam you can visit a lot of historical museums (“Histoyisch museums”, in Dutch) and you can also visit a lot of canals, or you can simply walk all over the city and enjoy the architecture of the houses and buildings. And you can visit Ana Frank´s house, too!

But it is not recommended to do all this visits in winter, because the temperature is about –10°, and it becomes night at about 5 in the evening. However, in summer it is a great moment to go sightseeing because the temperature is about 25°, and then you can enjoy riding one of the million bycicles there are in the city (Dutch people love bycicles!)

So, if you want to enjoy a very cultural and interesting trip, you should go to Amsterdam, the capital of Netherlands.

Last year my friend Macarena was in my house. I had a bunk bed and we sat there to talk.

She was on the top of the bed and I was bellow her. She saw me and fell off sliding down.

She rolled and hit her foot on the chair. Fortunatly she was ok.

Last year, Belen Estefania and me were in Belen´s house riding our bikes in the street. Martina saw a car. We moved but crashed at the corner, and then fell off the bikes. Belen´s mother helped us. And then we were ok!

Yesterday was Friday Mateo and I were slept on the bunk beds. When I was
sleeping, I fell off the bunkbeds .Mateo phoned the ambulance and his
parents. We all arrived at the hospital in five minutes. The nurses gave me
some medicine. I saw Mateo in the morning . I was very weel.

Famous sights include the Flag Memorial. You can also visit a lot of famous sights. In Rosario domain you can see beautiful landscapes. There are a lot of parks too.

A lot of famous people were born in this city, for example: Fito Paez, Messi, Olmedo, Aimar...

People say that Rosario has the most beautiful women in the country. It also has some handsome men.

About the weather, Rosario used to be mild but now it is becoming tropical.

that take you to think of someone who you don't know, but somehow makes you
recognise that anonimous person and make you identify the meaning of the
lyrics to how you meditate about your thinking, acting, living with others.
